Connect Sugarmaple to Claude

Sugarmaple is organizational memory, where your team keeps its work so any person or agent can pick it up where the last one left off.

What you need

You need a Sugarmaple organization. Create one at https://sugarmaple.ai/orgs/new.

Each organization has its own MCP server at this address:

https://<your-org>.sugarmaple.ai/_mcp

Replace <your-org> with your organization's subdomain. For acme.sugarmaple.ai, the address is https://acme.sugarmaple.ai/_mcp.

Use one connector per organization.

Find your MCP URL

In Sugarmaple, open Settings, then the Agents & API tab. The MCP endpoint card shows your organization's full MCP URL, with a button to copy it.

The subdomain is the one your organization is opened at, such as acme in acme.sugarmaple.ai.

Add Sugarmaple in Claude

  1. In Claude, open the Connectors Directory and add Sugarmaple. You can also add it as a custom connector.
  2. Paste your organization's full MCP URL.
  3. Sign in when Claude asks.
  4. Approve the connection in your browser. You do this once.

Claude then acts with your access. Its writes are recorded under the agent's name.

What Claude can do

Once connected, Claude can:

  • read, write, search, and list documents
  • read a document's history
  • rename and delete documents
  • comment, reply, and resolve comments
  • write a batch of documents as one commit

Your organization may limit write access for individual documents.

Try these prompts

  • "Write up an incident postmortem into a teamspace."
  • "Find every document that mentions the pricing model."
  • "Update the onboarding guide and leave a comment for the reviewer."
  • "Read the last five versions of a design doc and summarize what changed."
  • "File these meeting notes as a new document and @mention the team lead."

Use the REST API from scripts

The REST API at https://<your-org>.sugarmaple.ai/_rest/v1 mirrors the MCP tools. Scripts register and get approved once, the same way Claude does.
